Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are Powerful beyond measure.
It is our Light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves
Who am I to be Brilliant, Gorgeous, Talented, Fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
— Marianne Williamson

Did you know that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to? Anything you dream, want and desire, is a seed of Love, waiting to bloom, in your external world.

In order for this flower to bloom, the soil must be fertile.

The soil, is your Mind. The flower is your Dream.

Before we address “physical conditions”, or "external conditions" we must first address, the internal conditions. If the internal conditions are not fertile, no flower will bloom.

If the internal conditions are fertile, you can have an infinity of flowers, of all different colours, shapes and sizes. Infinity is the “limit”.

So what is stopping you? What stands between you and your dream?

When asked this question, most people will spell out a list of factors like:

  • Money
  • Time
  • Skill
  • The dream being “too good” or “too big” for them
  • Age
  • Kids
  • The economy
  • The country
  • Their 9-5 job
  • Etc

The list is endless. Whilst all these justifications seem plausible and can be argued with such eloquence, they are nothing but beautiful covers, to cover the real reason, why we don’t go after our dreams, why we don’t achieve our goals, and why we are not living the life of our dreams.

Dreams don’t have to be major and overly complicated. They can be as simple as writing a book,  taking that jazz class, living in another country, etc.

It’s about living a life that makes you happy - on all departments and without compromise.

We have been sadly taught that “we can’t have it all”. But what happens when you believe that thought? You suddenly begin to shrink into a smaller box, believing you can’t have it all. Your Belief then becomes, your Reality.

So now you must choose, instead of accepting that you can't have or do, all the things that you are so deeply passionate about, you can choose differently. You can choose to own them, and simply go for them, 100%.

You can Say Yes to Yourself, and give yourself permission, to live a life that truly fills you up, from inside out.

What is Standing Between You and Your Dream

Many studies have been conducted on this matter, and one of the major causes for this “internal blockage”, that stops people from pursuing their Calling, is 1) Social Conditioning and 2) Self-Doubt.

Self-Doubt acts like brakes in your car. You want to accelerate, and the brakes automatically kick in, and stop you before you even got a chance to go anywhere. And the more this happens, the more you stop trying to even go anywhere.

Thus, learning to recognize the Voice of Self-Doubt, and to kill it, it's the best thing that you can do, if you want to live a more Free life.

The Voice inside Your Head

Self-Doubt takes place in the form of that silent unconscious negative voice, that you don’t recognize as negative. You recognize the voice as just you, because you did not know that YOU are separate from the Voice. Which means, you can command and tame the voice, and use it to empower you, rather than disempower you.

When the voice is on auto-pilot, it runs wild and free, and does things that it thinks are there to protect you. So you may want change, but the voice will talk you out of it, due to the perceived threat. You may want a new career, and the voice may tell you, it's too dangerous, you can’t make it, and it's safer for you to just stay put.

You may look perfectly beautiful as you are, but the voice, will start comparing you to others, and remind you that you are not good enough, and maybe you need some plastic surgery, in order to love yourself or be more loved and acceptable to the world. The voice will tell you to stop eating and starve yourself due to some perceived made up threat, fear or disgust.

The Voice is the Queen of Self-Doubt. And if you don’t tame it and take control over it, it will not only control your life, but it will cause you a LOT of pain and suffering.

The Uninvited Commentator, Disguised as "You"

When you are already in a lot of pain for one reason or another, the voice will not make you feel better, be kind or gentle with you. The voice will exaggerate the problem even more, and turn its volume to the maximum.

Suddenly, what was a drop of water, is now a flood.

To add to the scene, the voice will also make you feel bad, when you already feel bad. It will take you down the guilty trip road, the self-loathing road, the self-punishing road, because for the Voice of Self-Doubt, you are never good enough and never will be.

Needless to say, that is not true. But,

Because the Voice lives inside our heads, and is mixed up with other thoughts, we cannot distinguish between the normal voice and the “other voice”. It sounds the same, except, it makes you doubt yourself.

Thus, taming and silencing this Voice is imperative, if you want to:

  • Be happy and fulfilled

  • Live the life of your dreams
  • Achieve your goals and objectives
  • Do what you were put on this earth for
  • Have a healthy and loving relationship with yourself and your body
  • Have a healthy relationship with food
  • Etc

So how do you tame the voice and reduce your current levels of Self-Doubt? Here are 5 Effective ways to Kill your Self-Doubt:

1. Silencing the Mind

If your mind is always busy with infinite endless thoughts and comments, you cannot hear your Higher Guidance, which we can say is the clearest form of thought. What you to do, is to begin to silence your mind, and try to get it to no thought. That is a very difficult thing to do, and almost no one can achieve the state of no thought.

But we can quieten the mind through meditation practice. In meditation, we give the mind one specific focus only, and engage the breathing to bring us fully into the present moment. Where we are not thinking of the past or the future, but we can finally be fully present and we can silence the mind, from external stimuli, as well as from its own internal dialogue. Meditation is a practice that should be done daily.

2. Positive Self-Talk

To counteract the automatic negative self-talk, you have to feed your mind with an ever increasing amount of Positive Self-Talk.

Because the silent voice runs on auto-pilot, and it sounds like you, it is often undetectable. You can find yourself not being able to get out of bed, due to depression, and seeking pills and all sorts of external fixes, only to realise that the tape inside your own mind, is switched on and playing. Then the body begins to dance to whatever tune we play in our minds.

So to reduce the impacts of this voice, and to gain our full Power and Strength, from within, we need to train our brain to think differently, by feeding it high dosages of positive self-talk.

One of the ways to do this is through Affirmations. You can get into the habit of reciting specific affirmations every single morning, with no fail. You will begin to see results within just 1 week. Why? Because you have actively started to counteract the autopilot tape playing in your head.

In addition to this, once you start training your mind in this way, through affirmations, in no time you will be able to do it without the help of affirmations.

You will have a new automatic tape, that instead of disempowering you, it empowers you and encourages you to shine bright, be beyond happy and successful on your own terms. The key is inside your own Mind.

3. Trying New Things

When we stay in our comfort zone, we stagnate and become obsolete. There is nothing in the entire universe that stays static, that does not change. Change and Movement is part of the DNA of our Universe, and you are part of that universe. Self-Doubt will cause you to stay the same, and then you will hate yourself for staying the same anyway. So to counteract that, you must do the opposite, and refuse to stay the same.

You should intentionally try something new, that is aligned with your heart - something you secretly want to do, but never had the courage to do it.

Pick just one thing that you always wanted to do, and that you always talked yourself out of, and do the opposite - just do it. No one has to know about it, you have to do it for yourself. This will build your self-confidence and belief in yourself.

4. Journaling

A lot of Self-Doubt comes from a mush of condensed thoughts, clogged up in your brain. They need to come out in the correct form. The best way to “empty out your brain” is to do Journaling - every day.

Journaling help clear your mind, by taking all the mushed up information, stuck and roaming about in your brain, out onto a piece of paper, so you brain can have room to breathe, think clearly and experience the day more clearly.

When you read back your journal, you will be able to laugh at yourself, and become aware of how ridiculous some of the things you were saying about yourself to yourself were. So ridiculous that you will bust the little monsters in action and they will no longer haunt you in your mind.

Journaling also helps you see ahead, clearly. All your secret dreams, desires and wishes, usually come out in your journal, and so do the breaks - the self-doubt voice.

When it's on paper you can see it clearly, and even laugh at it. When it's in your mind, those thoughts are controlling you and dragging you down.

5. Connection with the Divine

Reconnecting with the Divine, is reconnecting with Source. When you reconnect with Source, you connect with your True Self - the part of you that is Eternal, and made in absolute Divine Perfection. Reconnection with the Divine, allows you to perceive yourself for who you really are, rather than your distorted ideas of who you are or what you are supposed to be.

These distorted ideas drag you on an endless road, with many twists and turns, where you get confused, unsure about yourself, unsure about your life, and even seeing things that are not there. The worst part, is that you not only see things that are not there, but you also absolutely believe them to be true. Because you are not able to perceive correctly through the eyes of your Soul.

When you experience reality as your limited “earthy self” only you experience a mere fraction of yourself and of life. You then use this fraction, judge it as if it was the whole, and of course everything collapses.

Self- Doubt comes when we are disconnected  from our True Source of Power. It is only natural.

But when you reconnect, you feel anchored, strong, in your power, and certain of yourself - not a made up certainly that is dependent on external decorations, but a sense of assertiveness and confidence, that comes from a power that is bigger than yourself.
